Lower School Music
Lower School students at All Saints explore the world of sound through weekly music classes. Children are lead to explore rhythm, pulse, movement, instruments, singing, and music history. Every student participates in productions for Fine Arts Festival and Grandfriends Day as well as yearly class productions. A strings program is offered after school.
Intermediate School Choir
The 5th/6th grade choir consists of singers who meet for a 40 minute rehearsal every day. The curriculum covers vocal production for young people and music theory as it relates to the literature being learned. The class is designed to prepare students for Middle and Upper School choir experiences. Student performances throughout the school year include Chapels, Fall and Spring cookout, Grandfriends Day, Mistletoe & Magic, Christmas Concert, Spring Show, and Fine Arts Festival. The IS choir has been a part of musical productions such as Bugsy Malone, Jr., Honk! Jr., Schoolhouse Rock Live, Jr., and Suessical, Jr.
Middle School Choir
The Middle School choir continues the musical development that begins in Lower School. This group is challenged to greater participation and to amazing music making. The challenges of the changing voice are met in daily voice-developing exercises. Students are eagerly learning more about how music is written and it’s interpretation through daily theory and sight-reading lessons utilizing the Kodaly system of solfege. Choir students participate in TMEA All-Region and Solo & Ensemble competitions during the school year as well as various performances for the school and community.
Heart 2 Heart
Heart 2 Heart is the Upper School choir at All Saints Episcopal School. While continuing to improve vocal production and sight-reading skills, students are taught to evaluate aesthetics more critically. Through membership in Heart 2 Heart, students are able to participate in TMEA, TPSMEA, and TAPPS competitions and regularly place in both All-Region and All-State Choirs. Heart 2 Heart is a consistent “Sweepstakes” winner at TAPPS contests in addition to its performances both regionally and abroad. This top performing ensemble has appeared at Carnegie Hall as well as cathedrals in Ireland, Czech Republic, Germany, and Austria.
