“The life of the arts, far from being an interruption, a distraction, in the life of a nation, is close to the center of a nation’s purpose – and is the test of the quality of a nation’s civilization.” John F. Kennedy
The Fine Arts Department at All Saints Episcopal School seeks to provide its students with an environment that encourages creativity, risk taking, inspiration, and
participation in the visual and performing arts so they, in turn, might enrich the lives of others through a life-long love of the arts. All Saints prides itself in recognizing the visual and performing arts as an integral component of education and has established the Fine Arts as a pillar of the school. Through participation in the arts, students will learn and develop problem solving skills, flexibility, critical thinking, self-evaluation abilities, conceptualization skills, collaboration skills, creative thinking, aesthetic reasoning, respect, and tolerance.
Lower School students participate in weekly art and music classes, while Intermediate School students enjoy daily music and art classes. Elective options open up for Middle and Upper School students to include art, theater, choir, band, and sculpture/ceramics. The Fine Art enrichments continue after the final bell with musical theater classes, strings, and private piano and voice lessons.
